He has appeared twelve times at the Edinburgh Festival, had numerous comedy-concert series in the most prestigious venues in the UK and has been featured with orchestras from Sydney to Saint Petersburg. His concerts are a hit with the public, critics and orchestras alike – all of which clamor for his return at the earliest opportunity. Rainer Hersch with Orchestra Rainer Hersch’s concerts can be enjoyed by everyone whether they are regular symphony goers or have never been to a concert in their lives – combining superb musicality and brilliant verbal routines to leave the whole audience rolling in the aisles (“This is joke a minute, laugh out loud material” The Post, South Africa). His hilarious re-arrangements of the classics add to an expertly paced evening that your audience will never forget. Rainer Hersch’s unique comedy concerts are an easily marketable program for your season allowing your orchestra to show that they are not only excellent musicians but that they’ve also got a sense of humour. His appearance attracts a great deal of press attention ("A classical concert conducted by a stand-up comedian - now that is new" The Ealing Times, London, UK) and with it large audiences including families and first-time concert goers.
Two of Rainer’s famous productions are presently available in a format with orchestra: “Classical Music Unexplained” and “At Last! The 1977 New Year’s Day Concert.” His newest production “The Last Night of the Proms…Ever!” is available from March 2009. Click here for information on the new production. The format is adaptable for orchestras using guests only on the second half of pops and special concerts. Repertoire/Scoring/Music Please see detailed repertoire lists below.
